The Renewable Heat Incentive
Launched in April 2014, the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a government-backed scheme to encourage the adoption of renewable energy technologies among homeowners. The UK Government expects the RHI to contribute towards the 2020 ambition of 12% of heating to be generated by renewable sources. Successful applicants will receive RHI payments on a quarterly basis over 7 years.
At Green Energy Services, we are specialists in guiding homeowners through the RHI application process, thereby removing the complexity and getting you the best deal. Upon acceptance of your application we will help you to identify the right installer based on your requirements such as property location, type, size, current energy requirement, etc.
Follow the link from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) for an estimate of how much you could earn from the RHI: https://www.gov.uk/renewable-heat-incentive-calculator
Who can apply?
• Owner occupiers
• Private landlords
• Social landlords
NOTE: A new-build property is NOT currently eligible for RHI payments unless it has been self-built. Domestic RHI payments are only eligible for single properties. In some cases such as a block of flats it may be possible to apply for non-domestic RHI payments.
